We are currently hiring a full time Battery Diagnostics Engineer to join our dynamic and tight-knit team and be at the forefront of battery diagnostics, analytics, and testing. In this role you will own the data and analysis path from raw field data to a defensible state-of-health result, and help build the measurement methods that make that result an industry reference. Candidates should be passionate about using data to uncover truth, and even more passionate about creating a more sustainable future. We are looking for highly motivated self-starters comfortable in an early stage company environment. You would work with and report directly to our Electronics Team Lead as part of the technical team. This is a remote-first position, though preference may be given to those who can join the team in a hybrid capacity.
Responsibilities:
Analysis and delivery: Analyze the capacity of battery modules, packs, racks, and systems. Manage field data inconsistencies, and build repeatable, automated analysis pipelines to provide actionable replacement recommendations.
Diagnostics and model development: Develop and validate EIS-based SOH models, refine sampling methodologies, and continuously improve predictive accuracy by tracking against observed field performance.
Customer support: Support client technical calls and site reviews, clearly presenting methodologies and addressing technical diligence questions from engineering and warranty teams.
Technical marketing: Translate complex findings into sanitized case studies, method explainers, and conference content, ensuring ongoing technical accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
MS in electrochemistry, materials science, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field, with 1+ years of applied work; or BS with 3+ years in battery testing, diagnostics, or performance analysis
Demonstrated experience analyzing battery or power system time-series data. You have personally cleaned a bad dataset and defended the result
Genuine Python proficiency (pandas, numpy, scipy) or MATLAB equivalent; comfortable building and validating a model, not just running someone else's
Working understanding of lithium-ion degradation mechanisms and of BESS architecture from cell through container
Comfortable presenting your own technical work to an external audience
Able to travel roughly 20–30%
Preferred Qualifications
Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy: measurement practice, equivalent circuit modeling, or DRT analysis
LFP diagnostic experience, including the state-of-charge estimation problems created by a flat voltage curve
BMS and CAN bus data work: signal decoding, cell-level extraction, SCADA or historian integration
Machine learning applied to battery health estimation
Grid-scale BESS commissioning, acceptance testing, or capacity test experience
Second-life battery or EV pack exposure
First 12 months
Every project deliverable produced without the Electronics Team Lead or CEO touching the analysis
A documented, repeatable analysis pipeline replacing per-project bespoke work
A validated SOH model methodology with published accuracy statistics we can cite externally
Outcome verification dataset established and populated from at least two completed engagements
At least two sanitized case studies and one external technical presentation
The full time position comes with partial coverage of health and dental, a responsible time-off (RTO) policy, company holidays, and flexible hours. Our preference is a candidate with 1-2 years industry experience.

We are currently hiring a Temp Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role you will work with the engineering team to build and test our latest rapid diagnostic test equipment. In this role you will assist in designing, implementing, and testing hardware circuits for mixed-signal electronics applications such as switch mode power supply and battery management system applications. Candidates should be passionate about hardware and software integration of electronics, and even more passionate about creating a more sustainable future. We are looking for highly motivated self-starters comfortable in an early stage company environment. This is an on-site position that starts as a 4 month contract.
Responsibilities:
Execute verbal and written test procedures to set up fixtures and perform battery testing on EV and ESS systems following safety protocols.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to build, test, integrate, and document builds for battery diagnostic products.
Troubleshoot and test mixed-signal hardware circuits and PCBs
Read and support PCB design and documentation in KiCAD and LTSpice, maintaining component libraries as needed.
Select electronic components and generate BOMs for budgetary purposes while developing test methods for 3V to 500V systems.
Identify solutions to complex technical issues and validate assumptions in a fast-paced environment to maximize battery value.
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE or similar field with at least 1 year of hardware or power electronics experience.
Expertise in mixed-signal analysis, hardware debugging, and testing (DMM, Oscilloscopes, E-loads, etc.) for electronics above 200V dc.
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (KiCAD, Altium, etc.)
Strong foundation in selecting ICs, passive components, and power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, etc.) for designs.
Strong critical thinking, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in at least three of the following: Git flow, LTSpice simulation, BMS and battery testing, FPGA/CPLD (Verilog/VHDL), LTSpice simulations, Serial protocols (CAN, SPI, etc.), Embedded C/Python, or Data analysis (Python/R)
Familiarity with soldering lab equipment and skills (soldering, manual dexterity, tool handling, color vision)

ReJoule is an LA based startup, offering a diagnostic and management platform for electric vehicle (EVs) and stationary storage. Our technology addresses a massive market opportunity as millions of EV batteries reach the end of their useful lives. Supported by multi-million dollar grant awards from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the California Energy Commission (CEC), we are building second-life battery energy storage system (2LBESS) demonstration projects to provide resiliency for up to three sites in the U.S.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic and tight-knit team and be at the forefront of the growing second-life battery industry. In this role you will own the outcome and be responsible for ensuring our major CARES (communities accessing resilient energy storage) project moves forward. This role bridges the gap between technical execution and strategic stakeholder alignment—coordinating internal engineering teams, non-technical site hosts, offtakers, financiers, and federal/state grant administrators.
If you have a background spanning renewable energy, energy storage, policy/grant navigation, and financial modeling, and thrive when wearing many hats, this role is for you.
Work Structure: Remote-friendly with occasional site travel, or hybrid at our Signal Hill, CA office. (California residency or openness to relocating is preferred).
Hours: Part-time commitment starting at 10–20 hours/week, with potential to scale up to 30 hours/week or transition to full-time as project scope ramps up.
Responsibilities:
Site search + economic analysis:
Lead site search and evaluation for behind-the-meter long-duration energy storage (LDES) and 2LBESS deployments.
Analyze prospective site energy data, including utility rate structures, 12+ months of electric bills, and facility load profiles.
Perform ROI calculations and financial modeling for behind-the-meter systems, illustrating peak shaving, demand charge reduction, and resiliency benefits to prospective host site executives.
Federal/State Grant Management & Project Governance
Own project schedule execution and ensure all DOE and CEC grant milestones and deliverables are completed on time.
Work directly with internal finance to ensure project costs, time tracking, and cost-share ratios are properly accounted for in formats acceptable to federal/state auditors.
Identify project critical paths, track key operational KPIs (system cost, grading costs, ROI, cost-breakdown ratios), and report regular progress to program leadership.
Navigate bureaucratic red tape, managing formal scope/schedule updates and removing roadblocks with federal and state grant officers.
Stakeholder management: interface with vendor management and host sites
Support the identification, selection, and management of vendors, subcontractors, storage contractors, and utility interconnection stakeholders.
Review subcontractor/vendor invoices throughout project duration, approving payments or negotiating adjustments as needed.
Facilitate interdisciplinary project status meetings and prepare executive presentation materials for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, storage contractors, and utility stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications:
1+ years managing programs or projects within solar, BESS, microgrids, or related DER fields.
Familiarity with permitting process for battery storage and behind-the-meter distributed generation (i.e., energy storage, solar, fuel cell, etc)
Demonstrated ability to read commercial utility bills, evaluate rate tariffs, and calculate basic ROI/payback periods for energy infrastructure investments.
A process- and data-driven critical thinker with the patience and tenacity to navigate bureaucratic processes and push complex projects across the finish line.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical property owners, facility managers, and public agencies.
Ability to thrive in hybrid/remote startup environments, manage competing priorities independently, and comfortably wear multiple hats.
Mastery of project management core concepts, skills, and tools.
Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication skills and external stakeholder management
Pay Range: $30 - $80 / hour depending on prior relevant experience
